The series revolves around a single bachelor (deemed eligible) and a pool of romantic interests, which could include a potential wife for the bachelor. The conflicts in the series, both internal and external, stem from the elimination-style format of the show. Early in the season, the bachelor goes on large group dates with the women, with the majority of women eliminated during rose ceremonies. As the season progresses, women are also eliminated on one-on-one dates and on elimination two-on-one dates. The process culminates with hometown visits to the families of the final few women, overnight dates, should they choose to accept, at exotic locations with the final three women, and interaction with the bachelor's family with the final two women. Occupation Double is a Canadian French language reality show that started in 2003. It is broadcast by TVA and was the main competitor of the Quebec incarnation of Loft Story. Ultimately, it was more financially successful than its direct competition. A second edition of the show was aired in 2004 and a third edition was aired in the fall of 2006. After yet another successful fourth edition in 2007 and fifth edition in 2008 took place, also on TVA. The sixth edition of Occupation Double premiered on September 27, 2009. Things are different this time around, where the whole duration of the show is airing in Dominican Republic. Just like the other seasons, the contestants will travel around the world. The 7th season will air in the Fall of 2010, the show will take place in Whistler, British Columbia.Voices

Streetmate was a dating game show in the UK that first aired on Channel 4 from 30 October 1998 to 9 March 2001 and ran for 3 series. It was hosted by Davina McCall. It returned on 27 September 2007 but it moved to ITV2 as part of the channel's XXL Thursday line-up. It was then hosted by Holly Willoughby for one series. The idea behind the series is that the presenter has first to pick an eligible male or female from passers-by, and then with their help, approach equally eligible members of the opposite or the same sex for a date. The couple then go on the date, reporting back on its success or failure.
